Relativ unspektakulär, so richtige Männersocken ;)

Quite quiet here at the moment. It isn't because there were nothing to tell. But for over a week I have strong migraines and the screen doesn't make it better ;)
That's also the reason why I didn't answer all my mails, but I will do so.
Last week the long-desired parcel from Marion of Wollpapst arrived!
Inside there were twice 100 g sock yarn, one for Roidsear and (primary) one for me. Unfortunately my sock yarn was not that purple as on the pictures in the shop but pink. But that isn't that bad. So I can knit my Mum some socks. She does like pink ;)
Furthermore there were two skeins of hand-dyed sock yarn (they are sooooo soft) and 1100 g dye yarn. Now I can start some dye sessions - after Pentecost. My father will be 60 on the weekend and that must be celebrated ;)
My piano teacher's birthday was last week and I decided spontaneously to knit him socks. I see him again in June, so I have got enough time to finish the socks. Above you can see a picture of my progress. Quite unspectacular, real men's socks ;)
I knit with 2,5 mm needles for the first time and I really feel that it doesn't make progress as fast as with 3 mm needles. I would have never thought that there is such a big difference.
I also try the rosewood needles from knittybitty.de. The wood isn't that hard as i.e. bamboo wood, it's more flexible. I had to get used to. I was afraid of breaking the needles every moment. But that's nonsense - because of the flexebility the needles don't break that easy as i.e. bamboo needles. Slowly we become friends and I can knit relaxed again.
I intend to finish all begun socks until 1st of June. That's the day the Gletscher-Knitalong will start. Let's see if I'm succesful. That would be 1/2 Roidsear sock, 1 sneaker, 1 cable sock and 1 1/2 piano teacher socks. It is alot, but perhaps it'll work.
And because the entry has got so few pictures, there's another one of my new glasses I could fetch today. Unfortunately one can't spot the colour. It's a light purple - what else?

Hallo Tina!
Theresia
